According to a study put out by Omdia, The iPhone 11 has done incredibly well in comparison to other popular iPhone models. It’s interesting to note that Apple has sold about 19.5 million iPhone 11 units in the first quarter of 2020 while the global economy was suffering from the Covid-19 pandemic.
Unsurprisingly, Apple’s iPhone 11 has been the most popular phone since its launch last September. At launch, its price was $50 less than its predecessor, iPhone XR. This popular smartphone also features a dual-camera setup that many customers found desirable. In addition, it comes in 6 different colors including red, black, white, yellow, green and purple that is amazing!
According to Jusy Hong, director of smartphone research at Omdia, one thing has been consistent in the smartphone business. Apple has taken either the first or second rank among other smartphone models in the world.
For more than five years, Apple has been the number one product in the world even amid shifting conditions in the global economy and the wireless market.
The key to Apple’s success is the company’s strategy to offer relatively few models. This has allowed Apple to focus on a small number of products that appeal to a large number of customers, and of course sell in extremely high volumes.
In addition, nearly all of Apple phones have complete control over hardware and software. In other words, Apple is a portable media player, game console and handheld computer besides offering the functionality of a mobile phone. However, there are other reasons for Apple’s popularity.
For example, the design of Apple phones is completely different from that of other smartphones. Also, the battery power of Apple, its multimedia features as well as its unique applications are what make it the most popular brand among the customers.
Second place went to Samsung’s Galaxy A51, with 6.8 million units sold globally. Apple’s iPhone XR remained popular, with 4.7 million units sold, becoming the fifth most-sold smartphone for the last quarter.
Four of Apple’s models also can be seen among the top 10 list this year. iPhone 11 Pro, iPhone 11 Pro Max, , iPhone XR, and The iPhone 11. They ranked eighth, sixth, fifth, and first, respectively.
In the beginning of the year 2019, the iPhone XR was the new smartphone of Apple that was released. Besides, it was the only new Apple phone to make it into the top 10 list — the iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max did not. Older models, like the iPhone 6s and the iPhone 8, had ranked tenth and third, respectively.
