Mohamed Alabbar, the founder of Emaar, announced that Dubai Square Mall the largest upcoming commercial and entertainment project in Dubai will open within the next three years. This enormous project, which is presently being built in Dubai Creek Harbour, is one of the most ambitious real estate and lifestyle projects in the United Arab Emirates. It covers more than 2.6 million square meters.
In a statement on social media, Alabbar announced that this project will invest AED 180 billion. It is three times larger than Downtown Dubai and will feature a new generation of shopping centers and entertainment spaces. He noted that after 15 years of experience managing some of the world’s largest malls, Emaar is now taking a fully future-focused approach based on smart technologies for this development.
Dubai Square is designed as a smart indoor city that allows electric vehicles to move inside. This feature supports Dubai’s sustainability goals and digital transformation plans. The updated design, revised and expanded in 2024, greatly enlarges the project compared to its original 2018 plan.
