Dubai Maritime City is the world’s first purpose built center for maritime commerce and business. The project was born out of the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. Dubai Maritime City aims to capitalize on the strengths of Dubai as a regional and global maritime hub to create a dynamic urban lifestyle for the maritime community. It is both a commercial district and industrial precinct. Dubai Maritime City’s commercial District is a mixed-use area and is planned to consist of retail, residential, office towers and a promenade. Most of the residential places in the area offer apartments for sale. Its industrial precinct, meanwhile, is consist of marine services primarily dealing with ship lifts, ship repair plots, warehouses, workshops, as well as supporting retail and showrooms.
