Hazzaa, the first Arab astronaut, has talked to Arab People from space while showing them the effects of microgravity. He told the audience from across the Arab world about the beauty of the UAE from the space. Also, he has said that nothing can be compared to how beautiful this country looks from ISS.
There has been a big space event at the Mohammed bin Rashid Space Centre (MBRSC) on Friday, September 27. In fact, this was a live question and answer session between the people of the UAE and the first Arab astronaut from the International Space Center (ISS).
The Q & A session lasted for about 25 minutes. The audience including staff from MBRSC, school students and registered guests had the one in a lifetime chance to watch the first Arab astronaut answering the questions from the space. Actually, the question askers were His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai and some students.
In-conversation with Sheikh Mohammed
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed told Hazzaa that this was an achievement for the UAE that many considered impossible.
In Sheikh Mohammed’s point of view, this is sign of how far the UAE has gone, from the desert to the space. Emiratis have reached stars and Al Mansouri is the first. He has told Hazzaa: “We will always remember the first. However, we will witness more Emirati astronauts going through this process.
In the response to this, Al Mansouri thanked Sheikh Mohammed for the opportunity he has given the Emirati youth. In addition to this, in Hazzaa’s opinion, the UAE is the land of opportunities, especially to those who work hard.
After that, Sheikh Mohammed asked about the feeling Hazza has had when the rocket was carrying him.
In response to this question, Al Mansouri told Sheikh Mohammed about the extreme pressure when the rocket was flying into space. He also said that after reaching the outer atmosphere, seeing the Earth from space has been indescribable. It has been the best feeling.
For Hazzaa, the most incredible part of his trip has been the feeling of no gravity. In his opinion, this sense is unbelievable and indescribable. In addition, he said that the UAE has achieved Sheikh Zayed’s dream now. Finally, he thanked Allah, Sheikh Mohammed and Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed.
At the end, Sheikh Mohammed told people that Emiratis will soon be on Mars as well. Besides, he asked Al Mansouri about the mission’s programme. Hazzaa answered that everything was going as planned. He also told Sheikh Mohammed about the experiments he will conduct in the coming days. The conversation was ended by the sentence of Sheikh Mohammed, “We are proud of you.”
