UAE authorities have announced week-long Eid-Al-Adha holidays for public sector in the Emirate.

After the Saudi Arabian authorities sighted the Zil Hajj moon yesterday, WAM (the local news agency) immediately announced Eid-Al-Adha holidays for the public sector. According to the Islamic Calendar, today (Sunday, August 12, 2018) is the first day of the holy month of Zil Hajj. In line with the Hijri Calendar, the 9th day of Zil Hajj is the Hajj Day (The Day of Pilgrimage) for Muslims and the 10th is Eid.

Based on these Hijri dates, 20th August, 2018 would be Hajj Day and 21st August, 2018 would be the first day of Eid-Al-Adha in the UAE. Thus, UAE authorities have been quite generous with the public sector holidays this time and have announced official holidays starting from Sunday, August 19, 2018 and ending on Sunday, August 26, 2018.

The private sector holidays, however, have not yet been announced officially. However, the expected dates for them are from Monday, 20th August, 2018 to Thursday, August 23rd, 2018 with work resuming in effect from Sunday, August 26, 2018.

Well yes, a lot of dates there to memorize! But this certainly seems like a good long week of holidays after a great while and we at dxboffplan.com wish you the happiest of times this Eid.
